Went to see Hancock yesterday, and I really enjoyed the movie. It had just the right amount of emotion added into the action to make for the kind of movie I like to see in the summer. What kind is that? Action and comedy. Honestly, it's not just the summer. I'm really not into seeing movies like Atonement in the theaters. I want movies where people are going to laugh and maybe sniffle a little bit (I did in Hancock) but mostly just have a wild and crazy time. And honestly, with the stars, how could I NOT like Hancock? Will Smith is box office gold. Charlize Theron is a great actress and a total babe. And seriously, Jason Bateman is a comic genius. The man is just awesome.

I'm not going into the specific parts I liked the most because I have to go to work and that would take a while. Maybe I'll do that later. Or maybe I'll just remember them to myself and enjoy again LoL I see a lot of movies more than once in the summer, though so far, nothing has beat the 3 or 4 times that I've seen Iron Man. I may have to go see Hancock again, though. With a twist that cool, it'd be worth seeing again.

okay so my journal's going to friends only again for awhile because there's people in this world with nothing better in their life than to leave anonymous comments on my journal (if you really had something to say to me you would think that you had least have the spine to tell me who you are) that go beyond immaturity and straight into stupidity. Thank you for bothering to waste the time on me though! It's nice to see that people still care.

 I'm not usually one to tailor a story specifically for submission to something. In fact, recently I haven't been much with the writing at all, tailored or otherwise. however, the idea of submitting a genre peice to a local council short story comp seemed like a bad idea, politically.  I love a bit of genre but it doesn't seem to go very well in these types of things and I actually thought most of the winners entries last year were really boring.

However, this is the first time my Dad has actually actively encouraged my writing (that I can really remember) instead of just being bemused or dismissive of it. So some concessions will be made.

Or not, depending on how you look at it. So, my father was tinkering with my long-dead laptop, on which I had numerous fics in various stages. When the old bird died last fall, I thought I was fortunate to be able to retrieve my NaNo and get the hell out of there, but lo and behold, my nerdy father fixed it. (Go Dad!) So I've been revisiting some fics that I started, some almost a year ago and these ideas that have just been hanging in limbo.

When I was deep in my Lulu/Cruz obsession last winter, I wrote Our Little Faith, giving Lulu and Cruz a happily ever after without having to go through the hard part of getting them there. It's still one of my own favorite personal fics. Some time after that, I thought I would try to write something really difficult, for personal reasons: Lulu having a miscarriage. It was too hard to go through. I don't know if I should be forcing myself to go to that place, as a writer.

The swimming trials are over now. *is sad* I don't know how many of y'all watched the Olympic trials. I'm not sure why they needed to televise trials, but okay. NBC's milking this for all it's worth, but it only happens every four years, so they might as well, right? They even have a counter on the website with the days, hours, minutes and seconds to 08/08/08. Obsess much?

These athletes are so young. I checked out some bios and most are born in the early to mid-80s. Well, except for Dara Torres. Perhaps I'm the one that's old. How come they don't wear the normal swimsuit? That long suit almost down to the ankles doesn't look comfortable. I can't even imagine trying to take it off when it's wet. It also makes the women look like they don't have any boobs. Or maybe it just smushes them down, but perhaps not. I feel a bit sorry for them. They're on TV with no makeup and wet hair. Can you imagine?

Anyhoo, I learned a couple of things. I don't care what they say. Michael Phelps is part fish. Brendan Hansen is pretty easy on the eyes.

Am I the only one or did last night's episode just seem so-so?

the lovely mefnord visited me last weekend and we had a great time watching BtVS eps. She only wanted to spend one night here as she was afraid I was an psychotic axe murderer (why are all people afraid of that?) but spent two nights instead, so I guess that proves I'm not!

the second evening we watched the funny S4 episodes. Plus Doomed, because we both couldn't remember what the hell happens in that one. (we only had the German titles, so it took us quite some time to figure out it was Doomed. heee.) We kinda kept watching as we couldn't remember the ending... There doesn't happen a lot, btw. Except... Riley is LILAC! *bwahaha*

but then we were a bit distracted by Spike's pants (I know! that's not that uncommon...)

Do you know how many fics I've read where Spike gets rid of his shirt and his pants are so obscenely low hanging that you can basically see his pubic hair? Let me tell you, there were a lot of these...
And now I ask you: How? In these jeans? so not possible!

okay so i ended up with random letters in the box that i can't delete.

i don't have any pictures but we used to have what my parents still call the bordello bathroom in the house that me and mark may or may not be moving into next year. the room is very small-- we think it may have been the orginal pantry at one point because it's literally in the kitchen. it has a door and whatnot but it's in the middle of the kitchen.

it was all red and white-- it had a red padded toliet seat and the best part of it was that it had red velvet wallpaper. the wallpaper was candy cane stripes and flocked. the first thing that my mom said when she walked in, and i still remember this even though we moved in when i was like 7, was 'why is there a wh*rehouse bathroom in my kitchen?'...needless to say it didn't last that long, but i know the toliet seat stuck around for awhile.

and there was the bathroom across from my dormroom when i still went to Oz...i almost had sex with two different people in that bathroom, and i remember one time walking and everyone was silent. i could figure out why until i heard the grunting coming from the shower...it was noon on saturday so everyone was around and these two are going at in the shower....

I missed the actual 4th because I was in Maine. But it's alright, see, because I found a fuckin' rad picture to make up for it.
